Intimate and sophisticated, The Malt focuses the attention on premium Japanese and international whiskies, as well as signature cocktails infused with in-house syrups and a stock variety of Japanese homegrown sake. In the afternoons, you are invited to indulge in a unique Afternoon Tea served with a Japanese twist; a sublime fusion that observes the traditions of afternoon tea from both West and far East.

Beautiful Japanese whiskey bar tucked away within the prince akatoki hotel. The bartenders are very friendly and will assist with recommendations. They have a great selection of bottles and can take the time to explain each whiskey and talk about origins etc. The decor is lovely and it felt like stepping into Japan. There are few seats so you may need to book in advance. You can order food here from the restaurant next door. The complimentary sides are also really really good. I had a great experience trying out a couple different whiskies and well as getting to smell a couple bottles that I might otherwise never have chosen.

Today, 3rd April 2023 - Monday, my friend and I went to this Malt Lounge to celebrate her birthday. The server's name, Hai and Edo, was so helpful, polite, and serving us professionally. The afternoon was amazing, and every dish was superb. The interior of the Lounge was very peaceful, quiet, private that give us the full benefit of enjoying our meal. I would like to thank all the staff at The Malt Lounge for their welcoming service. And I will definitely be going back again with other friends. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A cute gem hidden inside a London hotel! Location wise, it’s pretty much almost in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by other hotels and businesses, but a quick walk to Bond Street. Absolutely loved the afternoon tea experience, though I wish we went for the one with live music too! The staff were very courteous and friendly, and we went on a weekday so it was pretty much empty and we almost had the whole room to ourselves! It was very cosy and they even had a fireplace, though we didn’t need it to be switched on. It felt very relaxing all around and the decor and walls gave it a very Japanese-esque feel to accompany our afternoon tea platter. This came with an abundance of treats from two savoury and three sweet tiers, followed by some warmly baked scones, clotted cream and jam. We were also able to pick from a selection of tea’s that were available on the menu. As a party of two, we ended up leaving with our bellies full and delighted by this experience. Would be amazing if you paired this with a spa experience at the hotel too, after all you should treat yourself once in a while!
